On Wed, December 7 at 2:30, Walt Maclay will be presenting useful tips in the Innovation Brief session “Managing Design Risk”. It is free for all attendees and well worth your time.

Managing Design Risk

Engineering is managing constraints and trade-offs. After satisfying basic system functionality, a workable plan must balance your cost, performance, schedule and volume targets to develop a useful design. This panel will look at how to identify all the risks in development. Implementation choices depend on your design goals and technology trade-offs. We will explore practical issues as such as managing design risk in mechanical design, plastic manufacturing, component selection, and reliability engineering.

Panelist:

  • Barbara Roberts, President & CEO, Wright Engineered Plastics
  • Mark Brinkerhoff, President, FusionDesign
  • Mike Silverman, Managing Partner, Ops A La Carte
  • Walt Maclay, President, Voler Systems
