Liquid Biopsy Platform – A Challenging Design
We have completed a challenging project that started with a referral from a partner. The project was the design of a complex medical instrument and it required a combination of skills that we are known for: analog circuitry, FPGA, microprocessors, and firmware. The instrument is used for non-invasive liquid biopsies and requires the accurate measurement of a very low current in a sample of blood. These liquid biopsy devices can provide a simple and noninvasive method to diagnose cancer in the very early stages, which allows for more effective treatment and lower risk of mortality.
I recently interviewed Walt Maclay, president of Voler Systems, on the topic of reporting project status to clients. He highlighted that the real benefit of the methodology appears when the team runs into issues. Read what he shared with me on weekly status reporting
As an engineering manager, building high-performing teams is critical to your success. Managers must understand how to get groups to work effectively across the organization and how to get tasks accomplished quickly to remain competitive. Understanding group development can help managers develop and shape their team. Leaders must be able to recognize and understand group behavior at its various stages. Learn more about team building
