Details: Adding AI to a product is easy to promise and hard to ship. Voler Systems, an Innovobot company, is bringing together two people who have done it repeatedly to explain what the work really involves.
The session was organized in collaboration with Innovobot Labs and features Michel Dubois, Operating Partner and Head of the AI Lab at Innovobot Labs, and Jean-Samuel Chenard, PhD, President of Motsai. Between them they have decades of experience taking AI and computer vision from concept to shipping hardware, across industrial sensors, wearables and embedded telecommunication systems.
They covered what it actually takes to run AI on a constrained device. Where inference should live, and how that choice shapes latency, power draw and cost. How much a computer vision pipeline can be trimmed before accuracy suffers. What changes when a model has to run on a microcontroller instead of a server. Where teams underestimate the effort, and which trade-offs are cheaper to make early than late.
Michel and Jean-Samuel also looked at where AI-powered IoT products are opening up, and what still holds them back. Expect examples from real projects rather than a survey of the field.
Built for product leaders, hardware and firmware engineers, and anyone weighing whether an AI feature belongs in their next device.
