I have worked with Walt Maclay for about 6 years, and he is an excellent choice for small and intermediate system integration projects, especially for those projects which require special hardware and software.
All of the projects I work on are concerned with physical sensors where one is converting a physical phenomena to an electrical signal. Walt is excellent in this arena. It is refreshing to work with someone who has a deep understanding of how to covert physical measurements to useful information. And, I mean useful to the lay person not just an engineer or scientist.
Finally, many, if not most, prospective customers do not know what they want. Walt is excellent in translating their “thoughts” into a real engineering specification. Sometimes, this results in a “lost sale”, as the customer realizes either his approach will not work, is too costly, or needs further definition. But everyone is happier with the fact that valuable time has not been wasted.
